Super Bowl 57: Player Props and Random Props
I had a bad weekend Championship going 5-5 with my picks. It was a tough week with basically one team getting steamrolled due to lack of a healthy Qb on the roster. The big dance is finally upon us so lets make a strong push with a a few extra fun plays to get back on the winning track! Super Bowl 53 is already making history. This will be the first time in Super Bowl history where tow black quarterbacks will be leading the charge. This is also the first time two brothers will be playing against each other, Travis Kelce from the Chiefs, and Jason Kelce on the Eagles front. Hopefully one of you will bring home historic size winnings.
The game script can be completely thrown out the window. The Eagles path to success is through the air. Jalen needs to let the ball fly. They need to put up points and not let their foot off the gas. Chiefs rookie CB’s have been playing much as of late but both they gave up over 150 rec yds to the Bengals wide-outs alone. I know the general consensus is to keep the ball out of Mahomes hands. That is true, but the way you do that is to put up points, and you do it with long sustaining drives, that’s the secret.
Patrick Mahomes and crew need to pound the rock and avoid the Eagles CB. Avonte Maddox is also back, boosting the Eagles defense that has been allowing less than 210 yds per game and on average of 1.2 passing Td’s per game. It’s much easier to run than to pass on them. The kickers will be part of the game. I can see it take a few drives to ge the nerves out and those drives resulting in early field goal opportunities and the game being decided by a field goal.
This is the Super Bowl so more than any given Sunday, expect the unexpected. This is the day you have the total random guy who is least expected to be the difference in the game, like Justin Watson or Noah Gray. On one side of the field, you have a full complete team in the Eagles, but they haven’t really been battle tested. On the flip side, you have a hobbling Mahomes, one truly reliable pass catcher in Travis Kelce, and a veteran whiz in coach Andy Reid. I’m looking forward to this game finally being played out. I also think the kickers may play a bigger role than expected in this game.
Determining which of the receivers will go off for the Chiefs has been near impossible all year round, as Mahomes spreads the ball around. Kelce is the most sure thing but he’s not a lock. I have a few random fun bets as extra plays.
It’s really hard to bet against Mahomes, but the Eagles are much more a complete and healthy team. Enjoy the food, enjoy your parties, and most of all, enjoy the game!
My final prediction for the game:
(27-24) Eagles come out with the Victory.
Jalen Hurts (PHI-QB) OVER 1.5 pass Td’s - He didn’t hit this prop against the Niner’s but he didn’t have to. I’m going right back to him in a game where he will show up and show out all those who doubted him.
Devonta Smith (WR-K) OVER 60.5 rec yds - Chiefs gave up 83 rec yds to Tee Higgins last week and 75 rec yds to Ja’Marr Chase Championship weekend.
Jake Elliott (PHI-K) OVER 1.5 FGM
Kadarius Toney (KC-WR) OVER - 2.5 receptions - This one is a bit risky becuase this kid can easily leave th game with an injury.
Jerick McKinnon (KC-RB) - OVER 19.5 rec yds - Most places have this number at 22.5 but you can find it this low at Sleeper. Clyde Edwards-Helaire should be activated for this game but I’m not concerned with that or Pacheco. The Chiefs want the veteran running back pass protecting Mahomes. He’ll catch the quick passes Mahomes will have to throw to avoid getting sacked by a stout pass rush and great perimeter defenders. I will also take the over on his receptions at 2.5 where you can find it.
Jerick McKinnon (KC-RB) - OVER 2.5 receptions
Will there be an guest performer with Rhianna during her halftime performance? - OVER
There will definitely be someone joining Rhianna for the halftime show. There could be more than one but the one person I’m banking on is Jay-Z. There have been rumors of Drake showing up, but I’m rolling with Jay-Z. He was Rhianna’s mentor at the early start of her career and a rapping icon.
Rhianna’s final song performed - “Diamonds” - Rhianna will come in remind those who forgot and those who may not know her by starting out her set with “What’s My Name” followed by, “Bitch Better Have My Money”.
