Championship Sunday: Player Props
Welcome to Championship Sunday!
The games should be really exciting. I’m real curious to see these match-ups play out. The most interesting thing that I’m looking forward to is watching the Eagles offensive line versus the Niners front seven. This weekend is old school football but with play makers everywhere. Eagles and Bengals have to throw. The Niners and the Chiefs have to run to win.
I have the Eagles going to the Super Bowl. They are the better team, they are also fully healthy. Brock Purdy on the road in a hostile environment presents a bigger problem for him. The interceptions I predicted last week will come to fruition this week. There are no props available any app which means he’s getting 2 interceptions and possibly a third turnover. Most of the plays I went with this weekend rely on pass heavy game scripts.
I have the Bengals beating the Chiefs in a high scoring affair. I am concerned with Mahomes high ankle sprain. I know they are saying his leg is fine but I’m not totally convinced. I believe it’s gamesmanship on the Chiefs part. The games are getting less, therefore so are the options. I added a few extra plays that I can make a claim for but a bit riskier.
Good Luck and enjoy the games!
DeVonta Smith (PHI-WR) - OVER 65.5 rec yds - The way you cut up San Fran is through the air. For all the hype that the San Fran Defense get, they rank in the bottom 6th in defense against wide receivers, allowing 167.5 rec yds per game on the season. Last week we used CeeDee Lamb in this matchup and he went for 10 for 117 yds and D.K Metcalf went for 10/ 136 yds. This week it’s DeVonta Smith with the better matchup, but not by much, facing off against Deommodore Lenoir who’s tied for 6th in mot receptions allowed to wide receivers. A.J Brown should also produce going up against Charvarius Ward. Neither CB have been very good this year.
Ja’Marr Chase (CIN-WR) - OVER 84.5 rec yds – The Bengals path to success against the Chiefs is also through the air. They’ll be down a few players on the OL, which would make it a bit harder to run on KC from the last time these two teams met. That shouldn’t be a problem for Joe Burrow. He should be able to get the ball to Chase on the outside against the rookie corner, Trent McDuffiie and Jaylen Watson. Chase has about 3 inches on McDuffie. The last time he played the Chiefs he went for 7-97.
Joe Mixon (CIN-RB) - UNDER 85.5 rush + rec yds - I know Mixon went off last week, but Bengals will have a hard time running it. If they want to keep pace they have to put the ball in the air and into the hands of Chase. Chiefs give up production to the pass catching running backs and Mixon won’t have the work all to himself this week. Samaje Perine has been cutting into Mixon’s touches. I think they’ll be rotated in.
Tee Higgins (CIN-WR) – OVER 54.5 rec yds – On the opposite side, Tee Higgins has been quiet for the last 3 games but he’s still averaging at least 5 targets a game in that time span. I think this is a great bounce back bounce back spot for him going up against the other rookie CB Jaylen Watson in a pass heavy game script.
Jalen Hurts (PHI-QB) - OVER 1.5 Pass td’s - Jalen looked great last week. I was a bit skeptical about how his shoulder will affect him but after that long pass DeVonta Smith, my skepticism was quelled. The Niners have given up 2 td’s a game in 3 out of their last five games, to Taylor Heinicke, Jared Stidham and Geno Smith. It’s much tougher to run on SF, but If Eagles are to win and I expect them to, the script I envision, has Jalen doing it through the air.
Jauan Jennings (SF-WR) - OVER 20.5 receptions - We played Richie James last week against the Eagles because he had the best matchup going up against the Eagles Nickelbacks. Jauan Jennings will be in this spot this week. He should be avoiding players such Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner. Niners have so many weapons and can go in many different directions and with a rookie Qb on the road, makes this a bit riskier play than the ones listed above.
