95th Oscars Picks: Results
The 95th Oscars are in the books. They were more predictable than in years past and there were no surprises but a few shockers, like “The Banshees of Inisherin” and the “Fabelmans” getting shut out. I thought they would surprise people by giving Angela Bassett the award when Jamie Lee has been dominating, but the Academy fell in line with the other awards shoes on the circuit leading up to the main event.
As predicted, it was a night of comebacks, historical wins, and love fests for EEAAO and “All Quiet on the Western Front”. I knew they loved these movies but not to near sweeping of their nominations. i went another way on a few categories whic h i thiught at the time made more sense, but it cost me. If you just randomly picked EEAAO and AQOWF to win all their nominations without any thought, you may have hit close to 100%. We still ended up on the winning side of the picks.
Find out below how we ended up finishing for the night.

Winner: Angela Bassett - (Miss) - Usually when there are 2 actors are nominated from the same movie in the same category, they tend to wash each other out. As was the case for Brendan Gleeson an Barry Keoghan, but EEAAO has been on a tear this year. In recent years the Academy was spreading statuettes around like little league participation awards, but we also believed the Queen deserved it. We love Jamie Lee and she earned it but I personally thought her recent portrayal of the iconic Laurie Strode in the recent Halloween trilogy, and most notably Halloween Ends was more deserving of recognition. This was the hardest category to pick from, all the nominees were deserving.
